A total eclipse will take place on June 15, 2011. This is the first of two Moon total eclipses this year. The second will be taken place on december 10, 2011.Last lunar eclipse when Moon passed in front of the Earth's center (the center of the Earth's shadow), was on July 16, 2000, and the next total eclipse of the Moon after this year will be on July 27, 2018.
The eclipse on 15 June 2011 will be fully visible over Africa and Central Asia and increasing visible over South America, West Africa, East Asia and Europe. In West Asia, Australia and the Philippines, the eclipse of the Moon will be visible just before sunrise.
I hope that in Baia Mare, Romania will be clear skies because it will be my first Lunar Eclipse filmed and photographed.
What is the eclipse of the Moon: A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes behind the Earth, so Earth blocks sunlight that should reach the Moon. This can happen only when the Sun, Earth and Moon are exactly aligned , with the Earth in the middle (between the Sun and Moon). Therefore, when a Lunar Eclipse occur,it will always be Full Moon. The type and duration of an eclipse depends on the location in relation to the nodes of the Moon's orbit.
