North-West of the Moon images, Mairan, Sharp, Sinus Roris in Registax.

These images illustrate the northwest area of the Moon, namely that of Aristarchus crater, Sinus Iridum and Oceanus Procellarum.
In the first image I have lowered the brightness to better observe the color tones of the region. In this way, we see that the highlands are lighter, while the lower areas as Procellarum basin are darker. We can observe a peculiar hue around Aristarchus and Herodotus craters, which I guess has this color after Aristarchus's formation.

In this area, we see a lot of small craters that surprisingly are not satellite craters of other large craters. Some examples of craters are Naumann (10 km) Lichtenberg (20 km), Nielsen (10 km) Wollaston (10 km), Angstrom (10 km), Gruithuisen (16 km), C. Herschel (13 km) Heis (14 km), Delisle (25 km) and Diophantus (19 km). In the bottom of the images we see Aristarchus and Herodotus (40/35 km). Herodotus appears as a bright ring near Aristarchus and between the two we distinguish a curved westward channel called Vallis Schröteri.

Also Sinus Roris is observed west of Mare Frigoris and west of Mairan crater (40 km). This is a golf translared as the Gulf of Dew.

Pictures by telescope. Aristarchus crater on the Moon in Registax 5.

Aristarchus (40 km) is one of the most distinct craters on the lunar surface though it is small in size. That's because its brightness when in contact with sunlight. It makes a great pair with Herodotus (35 km), which is about the same size Aristarchus, but very different from it, since Herodotus is flooded.
We can easily see debris thrown around Oceanus Procellarum from Aristarchus, ending up at Kepler (32 km), another crater to the southeast of it.

Herodotus appears as a bright ring near Aristarchus and between the two we distinguish a curved westward channel called Vallis Schröteri. In the area of this channel, the terrain color is darker.

Towards the west of two, it is an isolated crater called Schiaparelli (24 km), and further, the terminator is a large crater which it is lit on the outer edge, called Seleucus (43 km).

Astronomy Images by telescope. Craters of the Moon: Schickard.

In these images processed in Registax light gives a nice look on west craters of the Moon, as Schickard (227 km) Phocylides and Nasmith (114/77 km). On Schickard's floor are shades of color more noticeable which gives us to understand that it was flooded in several lava stages of different composition.

Inghirami crater is totally overwhelmed by darkness, located on the Moon west of Schickard. At this stage we only see its sunlit exterior collar.

The edge of the Moon. West craters through a telescope.

In this images I caught the most recognizable southwest lunar craters due to the 3: Zucchius, Kircher and Bettinus about the same size arranged in zig-zag. The floor of these craters are visible in this images, also as of Schiller (180 km) by the way.

Above of the 3 craters, it is the giant crater Bailly (303 km), which at this time is the terminator, half of it in shadows. But we can see the small satellite craters on tge rim of Bailly: Bailly A and B. Both of satellite craters A (43 km) and B (62 km), are almost stacked on top of each other. It's easy to figure out on this phase of the Moon, how floor of Bailly is uneven and rough.
The libration of the Moon makes its floor sometimes to be seen more, and sometimes not, as it is located close to the terminal (the edge of the Moon seen from Earth).

Bailly (303 km), the larger crater on the Moon, is a lunar impact crater with a depth of 4.3 km, and is located near the southwestern edge of the Moon. Oblique viewing angle offers an oval aspect of the crater because of its location. The most favorable time to observe it, is at almost Full Moon.

Craters on border between Mare Serenitatis and Tranquillitatis. Telescope images.

This is a beautiful region of the Moon, particularly in these light conditions when the sun fully hitsthe lunar soil, because it's easier to observe the boundary between Mare Serenitatis and Tranquillitatis. Also crater Plinius (43 km) and Menelaus (27 km) shine, but also most craters are glowing, which resembles rings of different shapes and sizes.

These images may be subject and other visible features such as a few lakes that I have discussed in other articles, lakes as Gaudii, Lenitatis and Hiemalis, south-west of Menelaus.

In these images we actually see how much the lava spread sought to flood all areas of the Moon, but failed to do so completely, leaving the surface heights which we identify the characteristics of white on the left.

Western edge of the Moon through a telescope. Registax Images.

Darwin Crater (120 km), is located on the west side of the moon as we see it from Earth. There are also craters on other cosmic bodies with the same name, such as Earth and Mars.

Darwin is a crater on the Moon has an edge significant disintegrated by other subsequent impacts. There are similar dune formations and the floor, is "scratched" by rille, and smaller "ghost" craters barely distinguishable. It is situated on edge the lunar disk and therefore we see it obliquely.

On the western rim of the crater is observed a small one, and on the south floor is one larger but difficult to distinguish, Darwin H (30 km), but in this phase of the moon it is visible.

We also see in images some deep grooves called Rima Darwin and Rima Sirsalis, named after nearby craters or craters which they cross.

Other craters in images are flooded crater Crüger (46 km) which has remained on the surface only its lip, Byrgius (87 km), Henry (41 km), Henry Freres (42 km), Cavendish (56 km) and Mersenius (84 km ).

The images were obtained by attaching a video camera directly into the eyepiece of an astronomical 8" (203 mm) Newtonian telescope; For this reason the eyepiece's visual field was increased.

Schiller crater through astronomical telescope. Processing in Registax.

Our Moon is full of craters of all shapes and sizes. One of the craters with a more unusual shape, is Schiller. This "worm" on the west of the Moon, has a length of 179 km and a width of 71 km. It is positioned so that if follows the contour of the lunar disk frpm our perspective.

In these images we see an extra wall located along the eastern edge of Schiller (in images on west because the images are upsidedown).

The area has a milky appearance due to sunlight that makes it seem so. Frankly, that kind of illumination I really like because of various white intensities of the craters. It seems that the saying that the Moon is made of cheese it even makes sense here.

Craters neighboring Schiller are: to the south-southeast is Rost (48 km) and Rost A (39 km) west near the terminal is Schiller C (an incomplete crater) to the east sticking to Schiller, is Bayer (47 km), and north is Nöggerath (31 km) and Nöggerath G (21 km).

Jupiter through the telescope in Registax March 21, 2014.

Jupiter, is the fifth planet from the Sun and most voluminous of all that the Sun holds. We are fortunate we can observe it through binoculars or astronomical telescopes, not only its form but also features on its surface, as seen in the images in this article.
 

If you are wondering where is the Great Red Spot which many knows about, this did not appear facing us in the moment of filming. If you wait a few hours certainly would had made its appearance.
 

The photos are the result of long processing in Registax of some videos taken with the camera attached to the telescope eyepiece.

Jupiter Images telescope Registax March 14, 2014.

I finished processing the images filmed by astronomical telescope with Jupiter. I am delighted with the results. We observe brown bands on the planet and two satellite on both sides of Jupiter: Io and Europa. I think it is the first time I can see the orange color of Io.

I hope you enjoy these images of Jupiter's true colors, because I did not increased the color levels but only increased clarity and darkened the images FastStone.

The first 5 images are a single Registax 5 processing, but in several variants of Wavelets.

We can see here the external atmosphere which is visibly separated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries.
