Video Jupiter and the star HIP 32 431 by astronomical telescope.

Clarity of Jupiter is not too good in this video mostly due to the quality of Earth's atmosphere, therefore the planet bands are unclear.

What remains interesting is positioning Galilean satellites around the planet. In their order, at the bottom is Europe, then Jupiter following Io, Callisto and Ganymede. More right there is a cosmic body, which is not related to planets in our Solar System. That is a star called HIP32431 located 854 light years from us (given that Jupiter is between 35-52 light-minutes depending on the distance from Earth, which is not constant), who "interfered" with the jupiterian landscape because of its brightness, at magnitude 6.50, close to that of Callisto, with a magnitude of 6.30 at the time.

The largest of all the planets in the Solar System, Jupiter shines brightly in the sky, despite its distance. Venus is the only planet constantly brighter than the gas giant (though sometimes Mars can do this in some periods). Part of this has to do with its size and composition, but the planet increases and decreases in brightness, depending on the distance from Earth.

Jupiter through astronomical telescope January 28, 2012.

The largest planet by diameter of absolutely all the planets our sun holds so generously, it does not exhaust our interest to contemplate it using different methods, from the naked eye to binoculars, or an astronomical telescope, whether we are only observing it or filming / photographing it.

This video is older but has not been processed yet. In it we see Jupiter through my Newtonian telescope with a few satellites orbiting around it. At the beginning of the clip, the planet is filmed in the distance, thus positioning the largest satellites of the giant planet can be observed. The two which are close to each other to the bottom, are Ganymede and Io, and on the opposite side is Europe. The most distant from Jupiter is Callisto, on the same side of the planet, like Europe.

I did not closed zoom on the planet too much to not hurt the clarity of the bands surrounding it.

Jupiter through astronomical telescope. December 29, 2013.

Jupiter, is the largest planet in the Solar System in which we are, a system that include a total of 8 planets. It is 318 times larger than the mass of our planet.
Jupiter, in these images is so beautiful with its satellites observed orbiting the planet, similar to tiny pearls around a larger and brighter one.

Despite its size, the giant planet it has not much weight. If it were dropped in an ocean big enough, it would float to the surface, like Saturn otherwise.

The most massive planet in our Solar System, with four large moons and other smaller satellites, Jupiter forms a kind of miniature Solar System because it resembles a star in composition.
In fact, if it were about 80 times more massive, it would have become a sun rather than a planet. The composition of Jupiter's atmosphere is similar to that of the Sun, which is mostly formed by hydrogen and helium.

Jupiter through astronomical telescope. Observational Astronomy.

Observing Jupiter does not require a telescope. Even with binoculars you can observe the planet and its satellites left and right .. To observe Jupiter's surface, at least you must have a telescope with a mirror diameter of 5 ".

Jupiter is the largest planet in the Solar System where we are, with a mass 318 times larger than Earth and a diameter 11 times larger so large as to fit into it 1300 planets like our.

We can see here the external atmosphere is visibly separated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries.

Why can not see any star around the planet in the pictures?
They are there, but the camera exposure settings are not high enough to show them. If I set the exposure to show the stars, the planet would be very bright as a large white blob.

Jupiter and the Great Red Spot.

Jupiter, is a planet that constantly changes its appearance showing different whenever you turn the telescope toward it therefore fascinate us every time observing it because its belts never have rest by their variations in size.

The Great Red Spot is visible discrete on the surface. These are the "lucky pictures" taken from a video taken with the camera attached to the telescope. I have chosen these images armed with great patience and attention.

With its satellites, 63 in number, Jupiter forms a kind of mini solar system.

In the images below, three of Jupiter's moons are nicely organized in bottom right: Callisto, Io and Europa.

Exoplanets vs. Jupiter planet.

A younger version of Jupiter offers clues about planet formation.

It is probably not the first time you hear scientists likened an exoplanet to Jupiter. According to a team of astronomers, a planet called 51 Eridani b is not only similar in size: 51 Eri B has an atmosphere rich in methane "very much like patterns that suggest as Jupiter at the beginning.". It was detected with the new Gimini Planet Imager instrument from Gemini South Telescope in Chile, as big as a small car, and it was made to filter atmospheric turbulence and has been optimized to find planets near bright stars. This exoplanet, for example, is a million times dimmer than its host star which is only about 20 million years old. Our sun is 4.5 billion years.

So how resembles Eri 51 b with the largest planet in our solar system? 
One reason is that it is only twice the size of Jupiter, while those discovered in the past were about five times larger. Also, scientists suspected that was formed in the same way as the gas giants in our solar system. The other exoplanets like Jupiter are too hot, but Eri 51 b has a temperature of 800 degrees Fahrenheit and is considered "cool" like Jupiter, which has an average temperature of 234 degrees.

It could be so because like on our gas giants, its rocky nucleus was formed over a period of several million years before starting to attract gas. Other planets are likely to have dragged gas heat too fast. Astronomers hope that this young exoplanet can help us better understand how gas giants formed around the sun.

Jupiter. The largest planet seen through astronomical telescope.

Jupiter is seen here with its dark bands but without its great red spot.
Four of the jovian satellites are observed here: Ganymede, Europa, Io and Callisto. Europe is the front of the planet, and Ganymede is furthest from Jupiter as seen in the last pictures.
They are also Galilean satellites.

Jupiter stunned by the beauty many astronomers since the invention of the telescope. They did not have our present technology to photograph or film it, and therefore they draw most of what they observed.

The first person who observed Jupiter was Galileo Galilei on January 7 1610. However, his telescope was too small to detect features on the planet, but could see the four largest moons, now called Galilean moons, precisely this is why. Observations of these satellites orbiting Jupiter was what convinced Galileo that the Earth is not in the center of the Universe.
