Special details of Solar eclipse March 2015 seen in Romania.

These images are still frames from videos and pictures taken with the Nikon D80, in which I wanted to capture some details that observed from the distance or in speed, seem to not have much importance.

For example, in the front of the Sun went birds during filming. Other interesting things are the few but existing details of the Moon's edge while it continued its path on the Sun's disk. And the only spot on the Sun, called AR 2303 is interesting to note though perhaps from disance, many people didn't gave it any importance.

 Beautiful clouds pass at the end of the eclipse. Thanks to them, the Sunspot is observed only at that time.

GIF animation Solar eclipse March 2015 Baia Mare Romania.

The contents of this article are gif animations of partial eclipse of the Sun which was visible in Romania on Friday 20 March, 2015.
I used the video files that I have uploaded to a website which converts video to gifs, after previously those clips were carefully cut in Sony Vegas 10, eliminating those frames where the images were blurred or unstable.

Above is the end of the partial Solar eclipse shot without telescope like the start of eclipse. Towards the end of the event, there were clouds which didn't threatened with anything the observing the Sun disk, but rather has become more interesting.

Videos of Solar eclipse from March 2015 in Romania.

Image with Nikon D80 / 203 mm Newtonian telescope / time 11:18 min.

These videos were made by Sony CX130 video camera mounted on a tripod (beginning and end of the eclipse) and on the Newtonian telescope 203 mm (maximum of the eclipse).

All filming lasted 1:15 hours, which I edited it in different ways and for different purposes.

These edits lasted 7 days during which the laptop was put to hard a hard stress, from simple cutting clips, changing playback speed, correct positioning of the Sun at the center of the image, up to making Gifs.

 A partial eclipse of the Sun took place over Romania on 20 March 2015. Sun eclipses occur when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, and therefore totally or partially blocks the Sun's image from the perspective of the observer on Earth.

In this article, were posted videos of the eclipse. These are edited in high speed, to be observed more easily the transition of the Moon in front of the Sun.

Nikon D80 DSLR Images of partial eclipse of the Sun.



A partial eclipse of the Sun took place over Romania on 20 March 2015. Sun eclipses occur when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, and therefore totally or partially blocks the Sun's image from the perspective of the observer on Earth.
In most cases, the Moon is passing north or south of the Sun, so it does not happen any eclipse.

For what reason solar eclipses occur?

The plane of the orbit of the Moon around the Earth is tilted 5 degrees to the plane of Earth's orbit around the Sun. For a period of half a month, the Moon orbits the Earth at the north of the ecliptic (the plane of Earth's orbit) and half of the month, the Moon orbits at south of the ecliptic. Twice a month hence, the Moon passes through the Earth's orbital plane points called nodes. If the Moon travels from north to south, this phenomenon is called descending node, and when it moves from south to north, it is called ascending node.

When a new moon happens while it is very close to one of the nodes, a solar eclipse is inevitable.

This eclipse had a magnitude of 1.045. The longest total eclipse took place on the Faroe Islands, 2:45 min. It is the last total eclipse visible from Europe until 2026.

These are images of the astronomical event dated March 20, 2015, namely partial solar eclipse, which I surprised it through the 203 mm Newtonian telescope and Nikon D80 DSLR camera connected to it by a T ring. I used different exposures and ISOs .

March 20 2015 Solar Eclipse. Movement of the Moon in front of the Sun. Video Captures.

On March 20, 2015, there was a partial eclipse of the Sun, which was visible from Romania.
I took the telescope down the block between garages, and I caught the event by two devices: photo and video cameras, namely Nikon D80 and Sony CX130, both attached to the telescope alternately.


Solar eclipse of March 20, was carried out well, in almost excellent visibility.

In this article, I posted pictures of the event from start to finish. These are video captures which were made by Sony CX130 camera mounted on a tripod, but also on the 8" Newtonian telescope from Celestron.
Each image has the time and equipment used in the description.
