Astronomy Now: Orion Constellation/Nebula by DSLR/telescope

Below, I used the telescope to photograph the Orion Nebula. Stars have some tails. A more success image is the one shot on October 21, 2012.

Last night, I went out with the telescope on the outskirts of Baia Mare city. It was an acceptable temperature for this period of 5 degrees. The sky was completely clear. I can not say that this night was successful, but is my duty to post here what I have achieved with and without telescope.

Above are images of Orion constellation photographed without telescope. I've posted here the original images to see the difference for every more 5 seconds exposure in each image. Notice the light pollution in each of the three pictures. The level rises as the exposure is longer. At 30 seconds, the picture is already orange.

Nikon D80 DSLR Orion Pictures Observational astronomy

I made ​​these images with the constellation Orion on the night the Moon, Jupiter and Venus were close to each other. Images were taken with Nikon D80 DSLR. The device was screwed on the telescope tube, designed for piggyback.
It was not a motorized mount, but I moved the telescope manually with the Earth rotation. The longest exposure time that I managed to achieve without the stars leaving traces, was 30 ".

Moon, Jupiter and Venus with DSLR Nikon D80 - observational astronomy.


Tonight I had a night out on the outskirts of Baia Mare. It was a splendid sky, and it meant for me  my baptism in DSLR  astroimaging, because I managed to shoot Orion without elongation of stars at a maximum time of 30 seconds (not much, but for me is good, given that was not geared a motor on the mount), but the result will be in another article. The device was screwed on the telescope tube, designed for piggyback.

 I took a taxi with a friend of mine and went to the edge of town. It was pretty cold but we were lucky with the thermos with hot tea we had. To the end of the observations, at 21:00, we had frozen fingers, but it worth the suffering: I filmed and photographed with and without the telescope. Clouds have walked everywhere, but they were fast, so we had always where to find a place to observe.

Venus through Celestron 8"

These are the first pictures taken with the 10mm Hyperion of an heavenly body this morning on my balcony.The results are not so successful, but Venus anyway it's hard to catch in less light being closer to the Sun.The firstpicture above is the original, and yhe others are edited in Fast Stone.I've reduced gamma slightly and increased the sharpness.
I wanted to test for connecting the accessories of Hyperion 10mm. with Nikon D 80, and it seems like two of the accessories I bought for no use this moment. Buy first only the T-2 M43 adapter for Hyperion and extension tubes T-2 40mm. and 7,5mm.,later. And of course you have to buy the T ring for Nikon.
