This is "Super Moon" at perigee from 5 May 2012. In this article I posted photos of full Moon through a telescope made with Nikon D80 DSLR, and videos with no telescope through my Sony CX 130. The name "Super Moon" did not come from astronomy, but astrology.
Full Moon has a reputation for problems that raise large waves, making screaming dogs, you wake up in the middle of the night, and its light enters through the curtains. If a ray woke up in the night of May 5, 2012, you may wanted to get out of bed and have a look at the full Moon. "Super-Moon" this month, is 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full moons in 2012 just 355.355 km from Earth.
Later this month, on May 19, 2012, the Moon will be at its apogee, the farthest point of it to us at 406.448 km.
Last perigee of the Moon took place on March 19, 2011, when the Moon was 400 km closer to us than this time. It occurs between 4 and 6 perigee every year.
