Chicxulub crater comparable with Clavius on the Moon.

These video shots were taken the day after we filmed Clavius crater in the dark:Clavius and Moretus craters in darkness that I thought were most successful captures of a crater in shadow.

65 million years ago, in late Cretaceous, dinosaurs have witnessed a significant impact with an asteroid that devastated the Yucatan peninsula, from which resulted their disappearance. Traces of a large impact crater of 200 km, with a depth of several hundred meters, was detected. This crater called Chicxulub, is comparable in size to Clavius crater on the Moon, which has a diameter of 225 km.

Clavius, is a huge impressive crater, located in the south of the Moon. With a small telescope, you can see a small arc of craters on its floor. Despite its size, Clavius is difficult to discern when is illuminated by the full light of the Sun.
